Prof. Dr. De Vogelaere earned her degree in Medicine at the VUB in 1993 and became a surgeon in 1999. She specialised in weight-loss techniques and became head of the Obesity Clinic department at UZ Brussel. At the Vlerick Business School, she obtained a degree in General and Financial Management, after which she became medical manager of the polyclinics in Dilbeek (2007) and Meiser in Schaarbeek (2012). In 2013, she obtained her doctorate in Medical Sciences.
Since 2015, she has worked as an independent surgeon, accredited at the E. Cavell hospital, where she and her team focus entirely on abdominal and bariatric surgery. She is also the author of several scientific publications.
“I guide every patient with overweight towards a healthier weight through a personalized pathway: ranging from strictly controlled medical treatment with GLP-1 medication to surgical obesity procedures, accompanied by postoperative abdominoplasty corrections when needed.
