depending on the treated area
Minor surgery, includes surgical procedures that are usually performed under local anaesthesia and often in an outpatient setting. These procedures are less complex and do not require extensive preparations or long recovery times. You do not usually need to stay in hospital.
These procedures are ideal for treating small abnormalities located in or just under the skin such as a mole (naevi), fat bump (lipoma), a blocked sebaceous gland (atheroma cysts) or a torn toenail.

- Removal of skin abnormalities: think about removing birthmarks, fat bumps or blocked sebaceous glands.

- Diagnostic biopsies: to examine and determine the nature of a lesion or lump.
- Minor procedures: which do not require hospitalisation and can often be performed in an outpatient setting.
Do you have a minor problem you would like to get fixed quickly? Minor surgery offers a quick and effective solution without the hassle!
Minor surgery follows a few simple steps:
During the consultation, we take a thorough look at your skin defect. We pay attention to things like location, size, shape and colour. We also ask about how long the problem has been present, whether the spot hurts, whether the colour or shape changes, whether the spot sometimes bleeds and whether there is any family history of skin cancer. Based on this information, we at I Care Clinic determine the best treatment for you.
We start by marking off and disinfecting the area to be treated. Then we give a local anaesthetic with an injection so that you don't feel anything during the procedure.
Once the anaesthesia has worn off, you will feel practically nothing and will only notice that the doctor is busy. The duration of the procedure depends on the size of the defect, but it usually takes between 20 and 60 minutes.
After the procedure, the incisions are neatly closed.
The stitches are removed after 5 to 14 days, depending on your recovery.
